Friendly welcoming staff who went the extra mile. Clean and well appointed rooms. Breakfast was nice, served by friendly staff. Ate at the ground floor carvery for our first lunch after check in and tried the hotel three course evening meal on our last night. All enjoyable and well presented food. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Exceptional and fab food. Welcoming and polite stuff, wake up calls and ironing free of charge. Pleasant location of the place - 5 minutes walk from bus station. Found in a downtown part of the town.

The hotel is ideally situated for the shops, seaside and views. We had no complaints about the hotel itself, but thought the waitress Denise was a little brusque in her approach. We got down for breakfast in the nick of time on the first morning and she clearly told us had we been a couple of minutes later, we would have forfeited the breakfast menu for toast and jam!! Thought that was a totally unnecessary and embarrassing remark to make especially in front of other breakfast-dining couples!!

Consider asking for a room away from the street to avoid traffic noise, especially during busy times.

Our first stay was a very pleasant surprise. Lovely spacious comfortable corner 3rd floor room with a great view. Easy parking. Excellent food, very good and fresh selection for breakfast. Perfect setting of the great Victorian style building and a perfect setting to celebrate our romantic wedding anniversary.

it is in a very good location very quiet but close for both the town centre shops and a not too far to walk down to the seafront. The room and bathroom were very spacious. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice and nothing was too much trouble for the very helpful and friendly staff.Would definatetly stay at 'The Crescent' again.

Comfortable good location
The attitude of one member of staff/management. I have never heard a guest in hotel being asked to move away from the curtains in the bar because the oil in his hair might stain them.

Had a lovely stay with my family and enjoyed the comfy beds and wonderful breakfasts every morning. There’s a perfect sun terrace for relaxing and a cozy TV room for downtime between activities. Parking can be tricky on weekends, but we managed to find a spot without too much hassle. just plan ahead! 😊

Lovely hotel in the middle of the city. We were booked into the Stephen Joseph theatre which is 5 minutes walk away. Room was beautiful and clean, spacious and well equipped. As we were going to the theatre chef prepared a salad for our late evening return which was superb and the staff remembered on our return and served it to us very promptly. Parking is a bit of an issue but the hotel staff do help.

Excellent hotel with a fine location, very convenient for shops, beach and just a 5 minute stroll from the railway station.Despite it's location the hotel was very quiet set as it is opposite a small park on a side road. The room we had was very good,a balcony overlooked the park and the room was spotless throughout.Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice and was well cooked. We did not eat there in the evening but the hotel has a reputation for fine food (even our taxi driver commented on the food!!).A very good hotel and I would say it even rates higher in some aspects than the three stars it has been given!!!
My girlfriend turned the shower on only to have the handle fall apart!!The bathroom is very modern so it wasn't old age!!Anyway it was fixed quickly and without fuss by the excellent staff!!Apart from that small hiatus there was nothing I disliked about the hotel.

The breakfast staff were attentive and made our mornings enjoyable.
The access to our room involved steep stairs without a handrail, a bit concerning.

Perfect retreat for families
We stayed for 2 nights in a lovely room with ensuite and had biscuits with our tea and coffee, such a nice touch. The breakfast was cooked well and more than enough for the day, my kids loved it!
It wasn't exactly cheap but worth the price for the experience.
